Celebrating over 75 years of service

Lee County’s first Bookmobile in 1942

The Lee County Library is proud to have the only Bookmobile in the state that has been in continuous operation for over 75 years. It is a full service library – you can get a library card and check out or return items. With over 1,000 books and around 200 DVDs, there is something for everyone aboard the bookmobile.

The Bookmobile is more than just a place to check out books. It is a place for the community to come together. Bookmobile Librarian, Barbara Carouthers, offers a variety of programs created to engage her youngest readers and foster a love of books at an early age. You can catch her at one of her regularly scheduled stops or give her a call to catch her at a community outing.
